The position is based in either Palo Alto or San Francisco, California, and offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative environment.

The Assistant General Counsel will be responsible for managing patent preparation and prosecution across global markets, ensuring robust exclusivity for BridgeBio’s pharmaceutical assets from discovery through life-cycle management. Key duties include leading freedom-to-operate assessments related to drug development, commercialization, and strategic transactions, as well as providing intellectual property counsel across the full asset lifecycle. The role also involves supporting U.S. and international adversarial proceedings, such as inter partes reviews, post-grant reviews, European oppositions, and patent litigation.

Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school, admission to at least one U.S. state bar, and registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Eligibility to practice in California or the ability to obtain a limited license for in-house counsel is required. A minimum of ten years of experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences intellectual property, ideally gained at a top law firm and/or in-house, is essential. An advanced degree in organic or medicinal chemistry, or a related scientific discipline, is highly desirable. Experience in adversarial proceedings in both U.S. and international contexts is also preferred.

BridgeBio Pharma offers a competitive salary range of $275,000 to $370,000, along with an annual performance bonus, company equity, and comprehensive health benefits. Additional financial rewards include a 401(k) plan with employer match, an Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), pre-tax commuter benefits, and referral bonuses for hired candidates. Health and well-being benefits encompass 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their dependents, as well as Health Savings Accounts (HSA) with annual employer contributions and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Joining BridgeBio Pharma means becoming part of a team dedicated to pioneering advancements in biotechnology, particularly in the realm of rare diseases. The company fosters a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration, empowering employees to push boundaries and solve complex problems. With a focus on rapid innovation and patient-centric solutions, BridgeBio offers significant opportunities for professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the biopharmaceutical industry.
