Associate, Asset Management (Engineering and Finance)
Hut 8 is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate to join our Asset Management team. This role involves assisting in the analysis, execution, and optimization of investment portfolios comprising various types of data centers. The Associate will play a key role in our strategic decision-making processes across all assets, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the energy, real estate, and financial services industries.
Key responsibilities include evaluating and analyzing the performance of existing assets, reviewing returns, risks, and compliance with investment guidelines, and understanding various energy markets and the integration of energy infrastructure. The Associate will engage in investigative analysis to identify solutions and improvements, demonstrating innovative, strategic thinking to resolve challenges, particularly regarding energy systems and infrastructure. Additionally, the role involves participating in the optimization of existing energy assets, evaluating reinvestment opportunities, conducting market research to support investment recommendations, preparing performance reports, collaborating with senior managers to develop investment strategies, staying updated on market trends, and managing projects related to the expansion and optimization of data center assets.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field. Previous internship or experience in finance, investment management, or a related area is preferred. Familiarity with energy infrastructure and electrical systems is recommended, along with strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques. Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts related to substations, transmission grids, and power generation is a plus. A keen interest in energy markets and understanding of transmission systems, infrastructure, and renewable energy investments is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential.
