The Associate, Energy Origination at Hut 8 plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth and strategic initiatives. This position involves analyzing market trends, evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, and strategic investments. The Energy Origination Associate works closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to identify and execute growth opportunities, conduct financial analyses, and develop strategic recommendations.
Key responsibilities include conducting detailed market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential growth opportunities. The role requires developing and maintaining complex financial models to evaluate the financial performance and potential impact of M&A transactions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives. Additionally, the associate will participate in all stages of deal execution, from initial evaluation to negotiation and closing, while collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment and successful integration of strategic initiatives.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, with an MBA or other advanced degree being a plus. The role is suited for individuals with less than two years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
