Associate General Counsel
Bitso is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its dynamic legal team during a period of rapid expansion and innovation in the cryptocurrency sector. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams across multiple jurisdictions, including Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Gibraltar. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal framework that supports Bitso's mission to make crypto useful and accessible throughout Latin America.
The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across various aspects of Bitso's operations. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, advising on regulatory compliance matters, managing legal risks, and supporting the development and launch of new products and services. The role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure that all business activities align with applicable laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess a law degree and have 2–3 years of experience in financial services, fintech, cryptocurrency, regulatory affairs, data protection, or information law. Proficiency in both Spanish and English is essential, along with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively. The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects across different jurisdictions simultaneously. A self-starter attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment are also important qualities for this role.
