Cato Networks is seeking an Automation Engineer specializing in ISP networking to join their Networking & Platform Automation group. This role focuses on Internet-facing, carrier-scale networking, customer connectivity, and complex multi-region routing scenarios. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with R&D, Network Engineering, and Customer-facing teams to design, validate, and automate large-scale networking scenarios that mirror real-world ISP and Telco environments.

Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining automated system and integration tests for carrier-grade networking scenarios. The engineer will validate Internet BGP architectures, multi-region routing, and PoP connectivity, as well as model and test complex routing policies, traffic engineering, and failover scenarios. Additionally, the role involves building automation for customer integration flows, including peering, routing validation, and traffic verification, and defining and maintaining realistic Telco/ISP-like test environments. Collaboration with Network Engineering and Customer teams to reproduce, validate, and prevent field issues is also essential.

Candidates should have over four years of experience in automation, system testing, or network engineering roles, with a strong background in Telco/ISP networking. Proven ability to design, build, or operate Internet BGP architectures for global or multi-region networks is required, along with a deep understanding of BGP, routing policies, traffic engineering, and PoP connectivity. Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF in complex environments, as well as testing or operating carrier-grade or Internet-facing networks, is necessary. A strong understanding of Layer 3–7 networking concepts, hands-on experience with Linux, and solid OOD/OOP and coding skills (preferably in Java) are also required. Experience with virtualized or cloud environments like ESX, AWS, or Azure is advantageous.

Cato Networks offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. Employees are encouraged to take on challenges and evolve with the company, which is on a fast track to becoming a worldwide market leader in cloud networking and security. The company fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation, providing a platform for employees to make significant contributions to the field.
