May Mobility is seeking an Autonomy Lifecycle Engineer II to bridge the gap between deployed autonomous vehicle performance and engineering development. This role is pivotal in translating real-world operational data into actionable insights, ensuring the continuous improvement and scalability of May Mobility's autonomous systems. The position is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with occasional travel to operational sites.
The Autonomy Lifecycle Engineer II will be responsible for analyzing the performance of deployed autonomous vehicle fleets across both commercial and test operations. Key duties include defining and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), developing data pipelines and dashboards to process vehicle and operational data, and identifying trends or anomalies in real-world vehicle behavior. The role also involves translating data insights into clear problem statements, driving a closed-loop lifecycle process that connects deployed software with engineering improvements, and collaborating with various engineering teams to influence software release priorities based on real-world impact.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, or a related technical field. A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in autonomous systems, robotics, mobility, or other complex software/hardware systems is required, with a strong focus on real-world system performance and lifecycle analysis. Proficiency in data analysis and engineering, including experience with large-scale datasets and tools such as Python and SQL, is essential. The role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, and effective communication across technical and non-technical teams.
