Backend Specialist

As a Backend Specialist at Monks, you will be an integral part of the Backend Development team, focusing on designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications that enhance business efficiency and competitiveness. This role is based in São Paulo, Brazil, within a dynamic and innovative company environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include leveraging your Java expertise to develop robust platforms and solutions, collaborating effectively within an Agile development environment, and maintaining clear communication with team members and management. You will be expected to write code that is robust, testable, maintainable, and well-documented, while adhering to industry best practices for UI design and implementation. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with Information Security controls and proactively address potential issues in proposed designs and solutions.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Java 7/8, strong skills in application design and analysis, and a solid understanding of design patterns and Object-Oriented Programming. Proficiency in English is mandatory. Experience with WebServices, REST APIs, and third-party API integrations is essential. Familiarity with modern technologies such as AWS (EC2), GCP, Azure, Docker, and Vagrant is required. Proficiency in version control systems like Git or BitBucket, and experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle are also necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial, along with a background in consulting that demonstrates increasing responsibility, creativity, and innovation.

Preferred qualifications include experience in CMS development and familiarity with SpringBoot and the Spring framework/context.
