Archer is seeking a Battery Controls Integration Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating our high-voltage battery control systems onto test platforms and verifying the safety-critical functionality of our Battery Management System (BMS). Your work will be pivotal in advancing our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise, contributing to the future of sustainable urban air mobility.

Your primary responsibilities will include developing and executing verification procedures and test plans across various environments, such as Simulation, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL). You will own the BMS controls hardware/software integrated system functionality testing on safety-critical components, utilizing HIL, SIL, and high-voltage integrated labs. Additionally, you will implement updates to automated test cases in synchronization with BMS functionality development for verification and regression testing, specifically using model-based environments.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of experience in Model-, Software-, Processor-, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing. Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink design and test workflows, as well as scripting languages like Python, is essential. Experience with test platforms such as dSPACE, National Instruments, or Speedgoat, and knowledge of communication protocols like CAN, SPI, and Ethernet, are also required. Excellent organizational and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for learning and problem-solving are highly valued.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the company's business strategy. For this position, we are targeting a base pay between $140,000 and $188,000 per year. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
