Billing Assistant
Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Billing Assistant to join its Accounting team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role supports attorneys and staff across all firm offices by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of client billing.
The Billing Assistant will collaborate with attorneys, accounting team members, and firm staff to process, revise, and distribute client billing memos throughout the billing cycle. Responsibilities include researching billing questions or discrepancies, posting expenses to the firm’s accounting system, preparing basic billing reports, and assisting with special or complex billing projects.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate’s degree preferred. Candidates should have 0–2 years of related billing, accounting, or administrative support experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is essential, along with clear communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
