BMS Integration Engineer
Archer is seeking a BMS Integration Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating hardware and software components of our high-voltage battery management system (BMS), contributing to the development of our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in the field of sustainable air mobility.
As a BMS Integration Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with hardware engineers and software developers to implement new features in the lab, translating schematics and datasheets into pseudocode and interface specifications, and setting up necessary equipment and instrumentation. You will also troubleshoot and resolve hardware-software issues, support critical battery pack tests, develop automated fault injection tests, and provide design feedback for future BMS hardware iterations.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a solid understanding of hardware and firmware interactions. Proficiency in schematic design, PCB layout, and familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers are essential. Experience with microcontroller interfaces like SPI, CAN, and UART, as well as scripting languages such as Python, is required. Strong organizational and communication skills, along with a collaborative mindset and a passion for problem-solving, are highly valued.
Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $144,000 to $198,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
