Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager at Milbank LLP plays a pivotal role in supporting the business development and marketing efforts of assigned practice groups. This position involves close collaboration with Practice Group Leaders and partners to advance group priorities, strengthen client engagement, and elevate the visibility of the practice.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for assigned practice groups, providing support and guidance on business development and marketing needs. The role involves planning and executing business development initiatives, identifying prospective clients, supporting targeting efforts, and tracking outreach and pursuits. Additionally, the manager will draft and customize pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations, as well as maintain and update practice materials and client-facing collateral. Coordination with the Communications team on press releases, media placements, and thought-leadership opportunities is also essential.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit persuasive, polished client-facing content. A strong presence and confidence when working with partners and senior professionals are crucial, along with excellent project-management skills to handle multiple deadlines efficiently. A minimum of 5–7 years of relevant business development or marketing experience in professional services is required, with law firm experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are also important.
Milbank LLP offers a competitive compensation package, with an anticipated base salary range between $140,000 to $160,000. Actual base compensation will depend on factors such as the candidate's relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, as well as the needs of the firm.
