Immigration Specialist
The Immigration Specialist at Milbank LLP is responsible for managing and supporting all employment-based immigration processes within the Human Resources department. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and international immigration laws while facilitating work authorization and visa sponsorship for employees. The specialist serves as a key liaison between employees, HR, legal counsel, and government agencies.
Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end employment-based immigration processes, such as nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions (e.g., H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM, green cards). The specialist coordinates with external immigration counsel to prepare and file petitions, applications, and supporting documentation. Additionally, they track visa expiration dates, work authorization status, and compliance deadlines, maintaining accurate immigration records.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field, along with 3–5+ years of experience in employment-based immigration, preferably in a corporate HR or legal environment. Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and procedures is essential, and experience with global immigration is a plus. Proficiency in immigration case management systems and HRIS platforms, excellent organizational skills, and strong communication abilities are also required.
Milbank LLP offers a competitive compensation package, with an anticipated base salary range between $65,000 to $85,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, as well as the needs of the firm.
