Afterpay is seeking a high-energy, results-driven individual with advanced communication skills to join our elite team as an Outbound SMB Business Development Representative in North America. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our fast-growing e-commerce payments business, engaging with business owners and executives at small to medium-sized businesses. You should be comfortable on the phone, possess excellent email drafting skills, and have a genuine curiosity about the operations of various online businesses and their structures. Proficiency with software programs like Salesforce CRM is essential for managing and maintaining your sales pipeline.

As an Outbound SMB Business Development Representative, your primary responsibilities will include using cold outreach strategies to develop new leads and opportunities with retailers, developing and maintaining a high-volume sales pipeline to meet monthly and quarterly KPIs and targets, engaging new and existing accounts to drive interest in Afterpay and Cash App Pay, conducting needs analyses to understand the specific requirements and pain points of potential clients, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce to ensure a smooth handover to Account Executives.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience in customer service or sales roles, with outbound sales experience being a plus. A demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets is essential. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, along with excellent organizational and time management abilities. The role demands a self-motivated, competitive individual who can work efficiently and intelligently, is comfortable with cold calling and speaking with C-level executives and business owners, and exhibits a high level of enthusiasm and energy. Proficiency with common software tools such as Salesloft, G-Suite, and Salesforce is preferred, and experience in payments or e-commerce is advantageous.

Block takes a market-based approach to compensation, with pay varying depending on location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Amounts listed above include target variable compensation.
