The Manager of SMB Account Management for Food and Beverage at Block (Square) is a leadership role focused on guiding a team of Account Managers dedicated to small and medium-sized businesses in the food and beverage sector. In this role, the manager will oversee a remote team of 10-12 Account Managers, driving growth and retention efforts for SMB food and beverage merchants. Responsibilities include fostering a data-driven, mission-aligned culture, coaching team members, and collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Sales to enhance the customer experience. The manager will also be involved in strategic planning, setting performance expectations, and serving as a senior escalation point for complex merchant situations.

Candidates should have 8–10+ years of experience in Account Management, Sales, Business Development, or Marketing, with 3–5 years in a direct people management role within a performance-driven environment. Experience working with SMB or Mid-Market food and beverage businesses is essential. A proven track record of exceeding revenue and retention goals, strong coaching abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Familiarity with leveraging AI in daily work and a builder mentality are also important.

Compensation for this role is market-based and varies depending on location. The salary ranges are as follows:

- Zone A: $180,000 - $270,000

- Zone B: $167,400 - $251,200

- Zone C: $158,400 - $237,600

- Zone D: $149,400 - $224,200
