Business Development Rep Associate
Square is seeking high-energy, motivated professionals with sound business insight and natural sales instincts to join our Restaurant or Generalist team as Business Development Representatives. In this role, you will lay the foundation of our sales efforts by reaching out to prospective sellers and promoting the value of Square's ecosystem for their businesses. As the first point of contact, you will understand the diverse needs of our merchants and become an expert in the products and services that enable their growth.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing a diverse pipeline of businesses, prioritizing outreach to accelerate sales cycles, and engaging in outbound sales activities such as cold calling, emailing, and social selling. You will employ a solutions-based sales approach, identifying challenges faced by businesses and providing targeted value propositions on how Square can assist. Additionally, you will document and track qualified opportunities to pass onto the Account Executive team, consistently attaining and exceeding monthly quotas.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to grow their career in sales, possess a BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, and demonstrate personal leadership, authenticity, teamwork, energy, and curiosity. Enthusiasm for developing sales skills through cold calling and comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential. Residence within 50 miles of the posted office location is required.
This position offers a starting salary that varies depending on location, with amounts listed above including target variable compensation. Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
