The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Diligent Corporation is a pivotal role focused on driving the company's growth by identifying and engaging potential clients. As a key member of the sales team, the BDR acts as a brand ambassador, generating interest in Diligent's products and contributing to the expansion of the company's market presence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading provider of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) SaaS solutions, renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence.

In this role, the BDR is responsible for generating new qualified pipelines through outbound prospecting methods, including calls, email outreach, LinkedIn engagement, events, and sales engagement platforms. The representative will identify and research prospective accounts and decision-makers across various sectors, such as asset managers, investment banks, law firms, and advisory organizations. Engaging senior stakeholders with targeted messaging that articulates Diligent's value proposition is a key aspect of the day-to-day work. Additionally, the BDR will build accurate, targeted prospect lists using lead generation tools, qualify leads through structured discovery conversations, and schedule qualified meetings and product introductions for Account Executives. Maintaining accurate CRM hygiene, meeting or exceeding activity targets, and developing strong knowledge of Diligent's products and industry landscape are also integral to the role.

The ideal candidate possesses 1-3+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or outbound prospecting roles within SaaS, data, financial services, or adjacent intelligence markets. A strong interest in pursuing a career in sales within a performance-driven, target-oriented environment is essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to generate pipelines through outbound prospecting and targeted account engagement, quickly learn and confidently communicate Diligent's products and value proposition, and engage professionally with senior stakeholders. High energy, resilience, a proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms are also required. Exposure to financial markets, corporate governance, shareholder advisory, or institutional investment environments is preferred.

Diligent offers a flexible work environment, global days of service, comprehensive health benefits, meeting-free days, a generous time-off policy, and wellness programs. The company fosters and encourages diversity through Employee Resource Groups and provides access to resources and education to support the education of the team, facilitate dialogue, and foster understanding. High achievers in this role are given the opportunity to progress within the business, becoming experts in corporate software sales.
