Chief Engineer, Autonomous Airpower
The Chief Engineer, Autonomous Airpower at Anduril Industries will lead the technical development of large aircraft systems from initial concept through production and sustainment. This role is part of the Air Dominance and Strike (AD&S) Chief Engineering Team, which is responsible for the strategic vision and execution of critical defense programs. Key responsibilities include leading the design, fabrication, testing, and productionization of new and existing air vehicle systems. The Chief Engineer will establish technical and programmatic visions, assemble and guide multidisciplinary teams, and manage detailed system designs, including requirements development and risk management. Additionally, the role involves coordinating prototype fabrication, supporting deployed operations, and ensuring adequate resource planning.
Candidates must have a deep understanding of unmanned aircraft at and above Group 3 class and hold a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience in a senior role leading air vehicle programs from concept through delivery, strategic direction in competitive landscapes, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is required. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance is also necessary.
The position offers a salary range of $254,000 to $336,000 USD, with actual offers varying based on factors such as experience and education. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full-time offers.
