As the Chief of Staff (Commercial & Business Development) at Hut 8, you will act as the CEO's strategic partner, focusing on accelerating the company's commercial initiatives. This high-impact leadership role bridges high-level strategy with on-the-ground execution, driving revenue-generating activities and strengthening Hut 8's position in the energy and data center markets. Hut 8 is dedicated to building and operating large-scale data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, colocation, cloud services, and Bitcoin mining.
In this role, you will design and implement go-to-market strategies to penetrate the data center and energy infrastructure sectors, identifying high-value opportunities and developing playbooks to capture them. You will lead high-stakes negotiations and business development meetings alongside the CEO, ensuring complex deals progress from initial agreements to executed contracts. Additionally, you will develop a deep understanding of power markets, GPU cloud dynamics, and data center real estate, translating these insights into actionable strategies that guide the company's commercial roadmap.
The ideal candidate possesses over five years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or as a Head of Operations or Growth at a Series A-C tech startup. A strong passion for the physical aspects of AI, such as power grids and high-performance computing, is essential. Proficiency in building complex financial models and crafting compelling investment memos is required. A proactive, problem-solving mindset is crucial, with the ability to identify and address bottlenecks independently, whether managing legal reviews or delving into technical specifications.
