Chief Scientific Officer
Legend Biotech is seeking a Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead and oversee its global research strategy and operations. The CSO will drive the scientific vision, delivering innovative technology platforms and transformative therapies from initial concept to development candidate. Reporting to the President of Research and Development, the CSO will integrate global technological innovation and drug discovery strategies to bring cutting-edge therapies to patients.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the company's scientific strategy, managing the research budget, mentoring scientific staff, and collaborating with stakeholders to bring innovative products to market. The CSO will also evaluate new technologies, partnerships, and investment opportunities to expand the company's pipeline and market position.
The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant scientific field, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in research leadership roles within the biopharma and biotech industry, focusing on cell therapy or immunotherapy. A proven track record of advancing multiple therapies from research through early clinical development, managing large global teams, and a deep understanding of the global development and regulatory landscape for cell and gene therapies are essential.
The base pay range for this position is $434,828 to $570,710 annually. Additional compensation includes performance-based bonuses and/or equity for eligible roles.
