Closing Paralegal
The Closing Paralegal at Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) plays a pivotal role in managing post-closing requirements for core fund loans and overseeing the closing of special loan fund loans. Reporting directly to the Vice President, General Counsel, this position ensures that NFF's lending activities are executed with precision, compliance, and care, thereby advancing the organization's mission to support community well-being and affordable housing. This role is remote-first, with a strong preference for candidates within commutable distance to NFF’s New York City office.
In this capacity, the Closing Paralegal is responsible for drafting amendments and waiver letters, organizing and tracking closing documentation, assisting with pre-closing and closing activities, and preparing wire transfer requests. Additional duties include preparing and filing UCC filings, conducting lien and litigation searches, performing corporate entity searches, and managing collateral release documents. Post-closing, the role involves scheduling meetings with various departments, tracking required documents, and maintaining compliance operations.
Ideal candidates should possess a strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and sound judgment. Experience in legal and lending processes, particularly in a nonprofit or financial setting, is highly desirable. Proficiency in managing projects using tools like Asana, along with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments, is essential.
