Commercial Account Manager
As a Commercial Account Manager at Motive, you will engage with strategically important customers, managing larger and more complex accounts that require a deep understanding of the Motive platform and the unique operational challenges faced by clients. This role builds upon experience with small and medium-sized businesses, offering an opportunity to work with a diverse range of industries, including transportation, logistics, construction, and more.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include developing strong executive relationships to identify growth opportunities, conducting thorough needs analyses to align customer pain points with Motive's solutions, and delivering tailored product demonstrations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—such as customer success, support, product specialists, sales engineers, and analytics—to optimize growth opportunities for your clients. Additionally, you will manage contract renewals, minimize churn through proactive communication and strategic account planning, and resolve issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, preferably from an institution in the US, UK, or Canada, or have substantial exposure to B2B customers in these regions. A minimum of four years of relevant or transferable work experience is required, with demonstrated success in end-to-end sales or account management, including complex deal management. Effective leadership or influencing skills are essential, along with strong relationship-building abilities to engage decision-makers by understanding their business challenges and aligning them with Motive's offerings. Excellent communication skills for presenting, negotiating, and overcoming objections in a consultative environment are also crucial.
