The Commercial Counsel will play a pivotal role within Flex's expanding Legal & Compliance team. This position involves managing the entire commercial contracting process, from proposal to signature, and developing scalable frameworks such as playbooks, policies, and AI-assisted workflows. The role requires proactive ownership of responsibilities, contribution to cross-functional legal projects, and continuous improvement of departmental operations.
Key responsibilities include optimizing and overseeing customer and vendor contracting cycles, drafting and negotiating service agreements, and maintaining contracting playbooks and policies. The Commercial Counsel will also design and implement AI-assisted legal workflows, train team members on effective AI utilization, and ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations impacting the company's commercial activities.
Candidates should possess 3 to 5+ years of combined experience in top-tier law firms and in-house legal departments, focusing on commercial and corporate matters. Experience in consumer lending, fintech, or proptech is advantageous. Proficiency in using AI tools for legal tasks and the ability to design AI-assisted workflows are essential. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are also required.
