Commercial Counsel, Infrastructure Security
As Commercial Counsel for Infrastructure Security at Anthropic, you will serve as the primary legal advisor to the Chief Security Officer's infrastructure-security and Governance, Risk, and Compliance teams. Your role will focus on managing the contractual and regulatory aspects of physical and facility security, hardware and supply-chain security, network security, vendor personnel, and security regulatory compliance. This position is critical to safeguarding Anthropic's high-value AI systems against advanced threats.
Your key responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating security specifications in build-to-suit, lease, and colocation agreements, as well as developing guard-force statements of work and security clauses in multi-tenant arrangements. You will oversee warranties related to hardware provenance, anti-tamper measures, and supply-chain integrity, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, you will set background-screening and training requirements for vendor personnel and support security representations in customer contracts.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. You should have substantial experience in security design-basis specifications, guard-force and access-control contracting, and a deep understanding of how security schedules interact with build-to-suit and lease agreements. Familiarity with hardware and supply-chain security, network security, and regulatory compliance is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are also required.
Anthropic offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $320,000 to $385,000 USD annually.
