Compliance Technology Oversight Lead
Block is seeking a Compliance Technology Oversight Lead to ensure the effectiveness of its Machine Learning and Heuristic detection models. This role involves partnering with Engineering to provide comprehensive oversight throughout the model development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations. The successful candidate will design frameworks and collaborate with Engineering to implement controls for real-time monitoring of detection models.
Key responsibilities include providing end-to-end technical oversight for all compliance detection and AI resolution models, ensuring they meet regulatory standards. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop defensible solutions for transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, and sanctions screening. Additionally, the candidate will oversee the creation of real-time dashboards to monitor model health and establish standards for threshold tuning and ongoing testing controls.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in compliance technology within regulated financial institutions or as a consultant for such entities. Proficiency with both Machine Learning and Heuristic models across transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer risk scoring is essential. Experience in conducting threshold tuning, input data quality monitoring, and model performance monitoring is required. Familiarity with AML model validations in line with SR 11-7 and OCC 2011-12, as well as experience responding to regulatory exams, is also necessary.
