Composite Laminator
Rocket Lab is seeking a Composite Laminator to join our Production team in Auckland, New Zealand. As a global leader in launch and space systems, Rocket Lab designs and manufactures rockets and satellites that support a wide range of missions, including scientific exploration, Earth observation, and national security initiatives. The Composite Laminator will play a crucial role in building and assembling various components of our Electron rocket, contributing to our mission of opening access to space.
In this role, you will be responsible for constructing and assembling parts such as pressurized tanks, structural assemblies, propellant filters, payload hardware, and heat shields. Your tasks will include precision lamination of prepreg systems, tooling prepreg systems, and performing bagging for oven and autoclave cures. Adhering to Rocket Lab's high standards of quality and meeting production schedules set by the leadership team will be essential aspects of your day-to-day work.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a composite technician, with strong skills in precision lamination of prepreg systems and tooling prepreg systems. Proficiency in interpreting and applying laminate and assembly drawings to ensure product quality is required. Additionally, experience with bagging techniques for oven and autoclave cures, as well as performing measurements and calculations used in a composite manufacturing environment, is essential.
