Corporate Counsel
LearnLux is seeking a Corporate Counsel to serve as the company's first in-house legal team member, supporting its growth and daily legal operations. This role involves leading commercial contracting, overseeing compliance and risk management, and acting as a key legal advisor to the business. The Corporate Counsel will collaborate closely with Sales, Client Success, and leadership teams to ensure efficient contract management and informed legal decision-making.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements such as Master Service Agreements (MSAs), SaaS agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and vendor contracts. The role also entails supporting company compliance efforts across privacy, employment, and general business operations, conducting legal research, and developing internal policies and processes to facilitate scalable growth. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel will serve as the primary point of contact for legal inquiries, improve legal workflows, and manage external counsel as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, and approximately 8–12 years of experience, including strong commercial contracting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology sectors. Experience in high-growth or startup environments, operating as a solo or first legal hire, and handling global legal and compliance issues is highly desirable. Strong business judgment and the ability to balance risk with growth are essential.
LearnLux offers a remote-first company structure, with a preference for candidates located near hub locations in New York City or Denver for occasional in-person collaboration. The company provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans, mental and financial wellbeing support, paid vacation and sick leave, and a paid sabbatical after five years of service. The role also includes equity options for full-time employees.
LearnLux fosters a supportive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing continuous learning and growth at the intersection of financial wellness and technology. The company values proactive individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to take ownership of their work.
