Court Reporter/Stenographer - Contractor Position

eScribers is seeking experienced stenographic court reporters to join our team as independent contractors. Established in 2005, eScribers has become a leader in providing reporting and transcription services for courts and government agencies across the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland. In this role, you will be responsible for attending in-person hearings in Albany, New York, and surrounding areas to accurately capture and transcribe legal proceedings. Remote work opportunities are also available. Your day-to-day tasks will include recording verbatim testimony, preparing accurate transcripts, and ensuring timely submission of all assignments.

Candidates must possess NCRA, NVRA, or NYSCRA certification credentials, or provide proof of successful completion of an accredited court reporting program. Legal eligibility to work in the United States, a high degree of professionalism, commitment to meeting deadlines, a high-speed internet connection, reliable transportation, and a current U.S. bank account for contract payments are also required.

As an independent contractor, compensation is provided on a per-project basis and includes a daily appearance fee, transcription fees, reimbursement for necessary travel expenses, and weekly direct deposit payments. Priority for assignments is given to reporters who consistently maintain excellent quality standards in their submissions.
