Cubist Portfolio Manager

Key responsibilities include dynamically managing portfolio risk by evaluating historical and real-time strategy performance, overseeing automated trade execution while monitoring transaction costs, and supervising a small team of researchers and developers. The role also entails designing, researching, and managing sophisticated investment strategies through the creation and engineering of advanced quantitative financial modeling systems. Additionally, the Portfolio Manager is expected to perform research to acquire historical and production data sources necessary for building investment models, develop quantitative mathematical algorithms to integrate diverse data sets, and engineer investment models that generate buy and sell recommendations using advanced quantitative statistics and investment theory. Ongoing quantitative research and analysis to enhance existing strategies and expand into new markets is also a critical component of the role.
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a computational or analytical field and have a minimum of 10 years of experience in developing, researching, or implementing quantitative models for equities, futures, and/or foreign exchange. Hands-on experience with all aspects of the research process—including methodology selection, data collection and analysis, testing, prototyping, backtesting, and performance monitoring—is essential. The ideal candidate should be innovative, intellectually driven, and have an intense curiosity about financial markets and human behavior.
The annual base salary range for this role is $200,000 to $300,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or the comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
