NLP Engineer

Point72 is seeking a motivated and skilled NLP Engineer to join our team in New York. This role offers an opportunity to work with large-scale unstructured datasets and develop state-of-the-art deep learning models within the financial industry.

As an NLP Engineer, you will build advanced deep learning models to process extensive unstructured datasets, engage with vendors to understand dataset characteristics, analyze data to generate descriptive statistics, and propose potential applications. You will also conduct preliminary research and evaluations for presentation to Portfolio Managers and research new technologies for efficient data management and retrieval.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in NLP, computer vision, speech, or a related field. Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, strong coding skills in Python, and experience with large datasets are essential. Financial industry experience is preferred but not required.
