IT Operations Engineer, Equities Application Support
The IT Operations Engineer, Equities Application Support role at Point72 involves providing high-quality user support for trading platforms, liaising with brokers, service providers, internal technology teams, and investment professionals. The position requires maintaining clear and proactive communications with end users and stakeholders during both routine operations and business-impacting incidents. Additionally, the engineer is responsible for following incidents through to resolution and ensuring thorough documentation for post-incident analysis. Building trust with users and managing their expectations around timelines and milestones is also a key aspect of the role. Furthermore, the engineer assists investment professionals during onboarding processes.
Key responsibilities include maintaining strategic production trading platforms to ensure stability and reliability. The engineer is expected to design reusable solutions across platforms and environments to drive long-term operational efficiency. Developing and implementing strategies for risk mitigation, cutover, and rollback during platform changes and migrations is essential. Proactively analyzing performance bottlenecks and capacity constraints to prevent incidents is also part of the role. Participation in incident response calls as a subject matter expert, driving rapid and safe service restoration, is required. Leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, scripting, documentation, and testing is encouraged. Producing clear, high-quality documentation, including reusable runbooks and migration playbooks, is necessary. Collaboration as part of a global team with support staff, developers, and end users is expected.
The position requires 5+ years of application support experience within the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of order management workflows. Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to translate trading workflows and technical issues into clear, concise business language, are essential. Basic proficiency with Linux and experience scripting in Python or Bash are required. The ability to multitask, including the ability to triage and prioritize various issues in a fast-paced environment, is necessary. A commitment to the highest ethical standards is expected.

The annual base salary range for this role is $175,000-$250,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or the comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
