Data Engineer (f/m/d)
Awin is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Finance Data & Process squad, focusing on developing financial data pipelines and datasets that support accounting processes, ERP integrations, and operational finance reporting. This role involves translating finance and accounting requirements into robust, auditable, and scalable data solutions within Azure, AWS, and Databricks environments.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake; developing production-ready notebooks, workflows, and data lake integrations; and applying best practices for Spark optimization. The Data Engineer will also design curated datasets, semantic layers, and data marts that power analytics and reporting, ensuring alignment between business expectations and technical constraints.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Databricks (PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Lakehouse), PostgreSQL, and a background working with large, distributed datasets. Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL is essential, along with experience in data modeling and familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, CloudWatch, and Step Functions. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, as well as comfort operating in Agile environments.
