Data & ML Pipeline Software Engineer
The Data & ML Pipeline Software Engineer will be a key member of Applied Intuition's data flywheel initiative, building systems that connect vehicle data collection, training, and automated model improvement. This role involves creating infrastructure that enables the autonomous driving stack to continuously learn from real-world and simulation data, accelerating development across teams working on perception, planning, and control.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining large-scale data processing pipelines (ETL) for ingesting and curating driving datasets, designing and implementing systems that automate data selection, labeling, training, and testing loops, and collaborating with modeling teams to improve training efficiency and model performance across iterations. The engineer will also develop core infrastructure that closes the loop between real-world test results and new model deployments, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to defining best practices for data-centric development.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering, and 3–5 years of experience in software or data infrastructure engineering. Candidates should have expertise in building and scaling data pipelines, distributed systems, or ML infrastructure, proficiency in Python, and strong knowledge of data frameworks like Spark, Airflow, or Kafka. Experience working with large-scale datasets, understanding data-driven development cycles, and familiarity with machine learning workflows or model training/deployment, especially automation of those processes, are also essential.
Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $125,000 to $222,000 annually, equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Benefits are subject to change and may vary based on the jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition fosters a collaborative and innovative company culture, emphasizing the direct impact of infrastructure work on vehicle performance and improvement. The company offers growth opportunities, encouraging employees to move fast, learn quickly, and mentor others while growing with the team. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of autonomous vehicle technology in a dynamic and supportive environment.
