The Deputy Chief Engineer, Autonomous Airpower at Anduril Industries is a pivotal role within the company's defense technology sector, focusing on the development of advanced autonomous aircraft systems. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Engineer will develop budgetary estimates, staffing plans, and oversee transitions between engineering, manufacturing, testing, and production phases.
Candidates must have experience developing, building, and testing large aircraft subsystems, with at least 7 years of technical engineering experience in a professional environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with experience leading technical new start development projects. A degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated passion for aviation, such as holding an FAA pilot's license or experience with experimental aircraft/homebuilding. Experience in unmanned aircraft development and strong hands-on technical skills, both professional and hobbyist, are also desirable.
