Design Engineer - Avionics Integration
As a Design Engineer - Avionics Integration at Archer, you will be a key member of the Advanced Projects group, focusing on the integration and optimization of avionics systems within our future hybrid-electric aircraft platform. Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, dedicated to advancing sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining CAD models and drawings to document interfaces between avionics subsystems and airframe structures. You will own and manage avionics envelope CAD models, ensuring comprehensive vehicle packaging studies. Additionally, you will maintain configuration management of avionics hardware, assist in defining assembly processes, and collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless aircraft integration processes.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field, with experience in system-level integration and interface management. Proficiency in CAD modeling (preferably NX), 2D drawings, tolerance analysis, and GD&T is essential. A strong understanding of mass budgeting, configuration management, and systems integration is required, along with knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace structural components, including machining, joining methods, and composite manufacturing.
Archer offers a competitive compensation package, with a targeted base pay range of $124,000 to $198,000, determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
