Digital Court Reporter - Contractor

eScribers is seeking experienced digital court reporters to join our team as independent contractors. Established in 2005, eScribers has become a leader in providing reporting and transcription services for courts and government agencies across the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland. Our company is private equity-backed and rapidly expanding worldwide, emphasizing professionalism, innovation, and collaboration in all aspects of our operations.

As a digital court reporter, you will be responsible for attending and recording court proceedings, ensuring accurate and complete documentation. This role involves both in-person assignments in Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas, as well as remote work opportunities. Flexibility in scheduling is offered, and there is potential to engage in transcription work for candidates with relevant experience.

Candidates must have successfully completed a training program or possess previous reporting experience. Ownership of reporting equipment is required prior to onboarding. Applicants should be legally eligible to work in the United States, demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, and have experience or knowledge of legal proceedings. Proficiency in basic computer functions, including uploading and downloading files, along with a high-speed internet connection, is essential. Reliable transportation and a current U.S. bank account for contract payments are also necessary.

Compensation is project-based and includes a daily appearance fee, reimbursement for necessary travel expenses, commissions on copy sales, and exhibit handling. Payments are made weekly via direct deposit. The onboarding process involves completing required paperwork, setting up computer systems, and familiarizing oneself with the programs and workflow systems used.
