Digital Court Reporter - Contractor

As a digital court reporter, you will be responsible for attending legal proceedings, either in person or remotely, to capture accurate recordings and create detailed logs of the events. This role requires managing recording equipment, ensuring the quality of audio recordings, and maintaining comprehensive records of proceedings. Assignments may include local and travel jobs, with flexible scheduling options available.
Candidates must have successfully completed a training program or possess relevant reporting experience. Ownership of personal reporting equipment is required prior to onboarding. Applicants should be legally eligible to work in the United States, demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, and commit to meeting all deadlines. Proficiency in basic computer functions, including uploading and downloading files, and a reliable high-speed internet connection are essential. A dependable mode of transportation and a current U.S. bank account for contract payments are also necessary.
As an independent contractor, compensation is provided on a per-project or assignment basis. This includes a daily appearance fee, reimbursement for travel expenses if necessary, commissions on copy sales and exhibit handling, and weekly payments via direct deposit. Priority for assignments is given to court reporters who consistently maintain excellent quality standards in their submissions.
