Digital Court Reporter - Contractor

eScribers is seeking experienced digital court reporters to join our team as independent contractors. Established in 2005, eScribers has become a leader in reporting and transcription services for courts and government agencies across the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland. As a digital court reporter, you will be responsible for attending legal proceedings in person within Nassau County and surrounding areas, as well as remotely, to capture accurate records of court proceedings. Your role will involve operating digital recording equipment, ensuring the quality of audio recordings, and maintaining detailed notes to assist in the transcription process.

Candidates must have completed a formal training program or possess previous reporting experience. Ownership of personal reporting equipment is required, along with a high-speed internet connection and reliable transportation. A strong understanding of legal proceedings, excellent professionalism, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

This is an independent contractor position compensated on a per-assignment basis, including daily appearance fees, reimbursement for travel expenses when necessary, and commissions on copy sales and exhibit handling. Payments are made weekly via direct deposit.
