Digital Forensic Technician
The Digital Forensic Technician at TransPerfect Legal plays a pivotal role in managing and analyzing electronic evidence within the company's forensic technology and consulting division. This position is integral to the team, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of digital evidence collection and analysis.
Key responsibilities include managing and tracking electronic evidence, utilizing leading forensic software to identify, collect, preserve, and analyze data from various digital media such as laptops, desktops, servers, backup tapes, cell phones, and PDAs. The technician is also tasked with recovering deleted or hidden data, creating detailed reports of findings, and performing email and e-file conversions, culling, and keyword searches.
Candidates should possess a strong background in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word, along with familiarity with standard computer operating systems, networks, and hardware. Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to multitask effectively are essential. Strong written and oral communication skills are required, as well as the capability to produce detailed, client-oriented deliverables. Programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, Python, Perl, Bash scripting, or PHP are advantageous. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Management of Information Systems is preferred.
