The Director of Accounting at EarnIn will lead the accounting operations team, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of financial processes as the company scales. This role is pivotal in overseeing payroll, accounts payable, procurement, expense management, and financial systems, contributing to EarnIn's mission of providing real-time financial flexibility to its community members.

Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a high-performing accounting operations team, establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to assess team performance, and aligning departmental strategies with company-wide priorities. The Director will oversee the monthly close process, optimize workflows to improve efficiency, implement robust internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements, and drive the effective use of financial technologies such as ERP systems and expense management tools.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA designation preferred. They should have over 10 years of progressive experience in accounting operations, including at least 5 years in leadership roles. A strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and accounting operations best practices is essential, along with experience with ERP systems like NetSuite and tools such as Expensify, Ramp, or Brex. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams. Experience preparing for an IPO or operating in a public company environment is considered a plus.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $200,000 to $245,000, along with equity and comprehensive benefits. The role is open to both remote and hybrid applicants, with those based in Mountain View, CA, expected to work in-office 2-3 days a week.
