Director, Accounting Operations
The Director of Accounting Operations at Legend Biotech is responsible for managing the accounting operations for the US entity, overseeing the Accounts Payable and expense reimbursement processes, and leading key accounting systems and master data governance. This role is a key leader within Controllership, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Director will work closely with the Consolidations & External Reporting, Treasury, IT, and FP&A functions to support business growth and transformation.
Key responsibilities include owning month-end accounting and reporting for US entities, reviewing journal entries, conducting variance analysis, and creating operating entity reporting packages. The Director will oversee accounting for right-of-use assets, payroll, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, and collaboration accounting. Additionally, they will manage the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely processing and disbursement of invoices, prepare quarterly balance sheet and income statement analytics, and oversee the administration of the company's cloud-based lease platform.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, with a CPA strongly preferred. They should possess over 10 years of combined experience in public accounting or an accounting operations role at a publicly traded company. Strong leadership skills are essential, including experience managing both on-site and offshore teams. Experience in business process automation, outsourcing, and shared service deployment is a plus, as is experience in the biopharmaceutical or medical devices industry. Familiarity with SAP S/4 is also advantageous.
The base pay range for this position is $163,468 to $214,551 annually. Additional compensation may include performance-based bonuses and/or equity for eligible roles.
