Director, Business Development, Autonomous Airpower (Science and Technology Growth)
The Director of Business Development for Autonomous Airpower (Science and Technology Growth) at Anduril Industries will lead efforts to identify and secure new opportunities within the Defense Science and Technology (S&T) community. This role is integral to advancing the development and integration of cutting-edge technologies for next-generation autonomous aircraft. The position is based in Washington, D.C., and involves close collaboration with the Air Dominance and Strike division, which focuses on delivering advanced autonomous air vehicle solutions for diverse military missions.
Key responsibilities include identifying, shaping, and capturing new opportunities within the Defense S&T community, developing strong relationships with service labs, research institutions, and industry partners, and collaborating with technical teams to create roadmaps for new and existing autonomous airpower capabilities. The director will also support engagement campaigns with key stakeholders across the Department of Defense and Capitol Hill, assist customers in addressing operational requirements and capability gaps with Anduril solutions, and maintain trusted relationships with senior military and civilian government customers, as well as industry partners and suppliers. Fostering a culture of trust, innovation, collaboration, and mission focus is essential, along with delivering on financial performance commitments and strategic market growth.
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the defense sector, prior experience working with service S&T labs, program offices, and resource sponsors, and a strong understanding of the S&T customer community and aviation technology roadmaps. A solid grasp of development methodologies for new and innovative technologies, experience with classified and/or special access programs, and excellent writing and communication skills are required. The role demands a willingness to travel up to 50% and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include operational or military acquisitions experience related to tactical aircraft, program management experience with organizations such as DARPA, AFRL, DAF RCO, and/or SAF/AQ, and an advanced technical degree. A high sense of personal ownership, the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and demonstrated leadership and influence skills are also desirable. Currently possessing and maintaining an active U.S. Secret security clearance is advantageous.
The salary range for this position is $191,000 to $253,000 per year, with actual offers varying based on factors such as work experience, education, and critical skills.
