Director, Energy Origination

Hut 8 is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Energy Origination to manage data center development opportunities across the United States. This role involves overseeing early-stage efforts to secure project site control and interconnection positions, contributing to the company's mission of building and operating large-scale data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining.

The Director will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle of data center loads, encompassing site selection, permitting, grid interconnection, and commercial offtake negotiations. Key duties include negotiating commercial terms with various stakeholders, conducting risk assessments, and developing growth strategies. The role also requires frequent travel to engage key stakeholders and spearhead project approvals.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field, along with a minimum of six years of experience in energy origination and/or development. Strong financial acumen, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments are essential. The role demands high organization, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
