Director of Product Design

Duolingo is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead and expand its diverse design team. This role involves overseeing the design of Duolingo's mobile applications, website, brand voice, email newsletters, and community events, ensuring a user-friendly and engaging experience for all users.

The Director will be responsible for mentoring and developing the skills and careers of designers and design managers, fostering a culture of high-quality work. Collaboration with product and engineering leaders is essential to align product planning and achieve key metrics. Additionally, the role includes designing and scaling the design organization, managing headcount budgeting, and forecasting.

Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in product design management at similar or later-stage tech companies, including experience managing managers. Proven expertise in recruiting, onboarding, and developing diverse design talent is required. Strong communication skills and experience influencing product strategy using data and metrics are also essential.
