Director, Sales Planning & Incentive Compensation
The Director of Sales Planning & Incentive Compensation at Flex will lead the design and management of sales compensation plans across all revenue teams. This role reports to the VP of Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy & Operations and involves close collaboration with HR Compensation, Finance, Sales Leadership, Revenue Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Key responsibilities include structuring incentive compensation plans that determine appropriate base versus variable pay mixes, commission and bonus structures, accelerators, quota frameworks, and regional or role variations. The director will lead quota-setting and sales planning processes, model variable compensation costs to forecast payout liabilities, and oversee the end-to-end execution of compensation plans. This encompasses administration, calculations, validation, payouts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure accuracy, transparency, and fairness. Additionally, the role involves building and analyzing dashboards to track quota attainment, payout distributions, and other compensation-related metrics, using insights to recommend plan adjustments. The director will also serve as the primary liaison between Sales, HR, Finance, Revenue Operations, and senior leadership for all matters related to compensation plan design, execution, and governance.
Candidates should have 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in sales compensation, sales planning, sales finance, or related functions, with a proven track record of designing and managing incentive compensation plans across multiple seller teams. Strong analytical skills are essential, including expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, quota-setting, payout modeling, data analysis, and reporting. The ability to work with large datasets and complex compensation scenarios, translating results into actionable recommendations, is crucial. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
Flex offers a competitive compensation package, with a base salary range of $216,000 to $270,000 for candidates in Tier 1 markets such as New York City and San Francisco.
