The Director of Strategy at WPP Media is responsible for leading the end-to-end strategic planning for a portfolio of global brands. This role involves developing comprehensive marketing roadmaps that drive both short-term and long-term business growth. The Director will collaborate closely with client specialist teams and external partners to conceptualize and implement innovative partnerships, such as intellectual properties, programs, platforms, and collaborations. Engaging with senior decision-makers, including CMOs and CEOs, the Director will present WPP Media's perspectives and establish trusted partnerships to support clients' growth plans.

Key responsibilities include demonstrating a deep understanding of brand challenges, consumer behaviors, cultural trends, and regional nuances. The Director will interpret data and tool outputs to craft compelling narratives and develop end-to-end briefs for brands. This role requires interaction with diverse specialist teams, guiding them to align their ideas with strategic objectives. Mentoring the team to proactively and reactively work on briefs within deadlines is essential. Additionally, the Director will communicate emerging opportunities and best-in-class work to client teams, ensuring continuous engagement and responsiveness.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, planning, consulting, or media roles. They should possess the ability to work under pressure and have a strong aptitude for dissecting complex brand, market, competitive, and internal data to build effective brand strategies. Expertise in tools such as TGI, GWI, and AOP, along with scenario planning, is required. Experience in media and platforms, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to present compelling strategic narratives to diverse audiences are also essential. Persuasion and negotiation skills to gain stakeholder buy-in, as well as problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, are crucial for success in this role.
