DTP Typesetter

The DTP Typesetter at TransPerfect Legal is responsible for managing the production of desktop publishing projects using applications such as InDesign, Quark, and other DTP software on both MAC and PC platforms. This role involves coordinating with DTP Specialists, Project Managers, and other production team members across various offices and time zones to ensure project deadlines are met. The typesetter will also be tasked with learning new DTP formats and procedures, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining a thorough understanding of leading, tracking, kerning, and fonts.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the production of DTP projects, ensuring high-quality output that meets client specifications. The typesetter will coordinate and communicate effectively with team members to manage project timelines and deliverables. Additionally, the role requires staying updated with new DTP formats and procedures, as well as troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise during the production process.

Candidates must possess a four-year degree from a university or college and have experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Microsoft Office, and other desktop publishing applications on both MAC and PC platforms. A strong attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required, as well as the ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
