EHS Manager
The EHS Manager at Voyager Technologies, Inc. will be based onsite in Minden, Louisiana, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This position is integral to the company's energetic materials and explosives manufacturing operations, which are regulated by Process Safety Management (PSM) and the Department of Defense (DoD). The role focuses on leading and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, protect personnel and assets, and facilitate safe, reliable operations.
Key responsibilities include leading and enhancing PSM programs such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Management of Change (MOC), mechanical integrity, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness. The EHS Manager will develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies and management systems tailored for a PSM-regulated explosives operation. Ensuring compliance with regulations from agencies like OSHA, EPA, ATF, DoD, and NFPA is essential, as is serving as the primary contact for EHS-related audits and inspections. Managing the EHS budget, leading incident investigations, collaborating with various departments to integrate safety into daily operations, and developing training programs are also key aspects of the role.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field, along with 10 years of experience in EHS, PSM, or chemical/explosives manufacturing. Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field with 7 years of experience is acceptable. Strong knowledge of PSM, OSHA, EPA, ATF, NFPA, and DoD explosives safety regulations is required. Experience in developing and sustaining EHS management systems within manufacturing or high-hazard environments, leading incident investigations, and influencing cross-functional teams to foster a strong safety culture is essential. Additionally, 5+ years of experience leading EHS programs with site-wide impact is necessary.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $140,000, reflecting base salary only and excluding benefits or bonuses.
