Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join the Sentry Engineering team in Irvine, California. This team focuses on developing hardware products and systems that utilize artificial intelligence to provide persistent autonomous awareness across various domains. The Sentry system features AI-enabled edge processing, continuous 360-degree pan/tilt capability, and a suite of radars and sensors to autonomously identify, detect, and track objects of interest, enhancing situational awareness for critical infrastructure.

In this role, the Electrical Test Engineer will take ownership of electrical integration activities, serving as the primary point of contact. Responsibilities include providing hands-on and in-field support for both prototype and production-level products, collaborating with mechanical engineers to optimize the selection, design, and integration of high-power components, and balancing component and module selections against size, weight, power, and electromagnetic compatibility requirements. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with the design team to achieve system-level reliability goals within the context of operational concepts.

Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience and demonstrate the ability to design digital and analog electronics from concept through functional prototype to production-ready product. Proficiency in troubleshooting existing hardware to identify root causes and implement design improvements is essential. The role requires developing clear documentation to capture design requirements, specifications, test coverage, and test reports. Experience with full-cycle PCB design—including requirements collection, schematic design, component selection, layout completion, bring-up, testing, debugging, validation, characterization, and system integration—is also required. Collaboration with mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products is a key aspect of the position. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, over five years of experience in designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs and products, and competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, and current probes. Familiarity with switch-mode power supply design and testing, standard interfaces like Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB, as well as common MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and technologies, is advantageous. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, proficiency with electronic design automation tools like Altium Designer, and scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB are also desirable.

The salary range for this position is $98,000 to $130,000 per year. Anduril offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost to employees, life and disability insurance coverage, generous paid time off plans with a holiday hiatus in December, and access to free mental health resources 24/7. Additional benefits include coverage for fertility treatments, adoption, and gestational carriers, as well as annual reimbursement for professional development and company-funded commuter benefits based on region. Relocation assistance is available depending on role eligibility.
