Electro-Mechanical Engineer, PCBs/Motor Controls
Anduril Industries is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join their team at the Costa Mesa headquarters. This role involves developing complex systems such as optical systems, batteries, mechanisms, control systems, and sensors. The position requires high ownership and frequent collaboration with other core disciplines, offering significant growth potential and leadership opportunities.
Key responsibilities include executing rapid evaluations of engineering concepts across various fields, identifying and managing early vendor relationships, performing trade studies and physics-based analyses, and designing, implementing, and testing complex electro-mechanical systems. The engineer will also lead design reviews, conduct analyses, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans, build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. Supporting critical hardware demonstrations with customers and traveling to test sites as needed are also part of the role.
Required qualifications include experience in immersive technical projects, demonstrated leadership skills, over five years of electrical/design experience, proficiency in PCB design and ECAD tools (such as Altium or KiCAD), hands-on prototyping skills, and experience with controls, robotics, or motor/servo drive systems. Familiarity with microcontrollers, power conversion, system integration, and the ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams are essential. A BS, MS, or PhD in an engineering field or equivalent work experience is required, along with eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
The salary range for this position is $142,000 to $213,000 annually.
