Embedded Cyber Security Engineer
Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, is seeking an Embedded Cyber Security Engineer to join their team. The Embedded Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for leading cybersecurity initiatives for embedded safety-critical flight systems, software, and hardware. Key duties include defining and documenting cybersecurity plans, conducting risk assessments, developing security architectures for both aircraft and ground-based systems, validating layered security measures, and overseeing cybersecurity efforts across various system levels. The role also involves verifying cybersecurity requirements through analysis and testing, managing red team testing efforts, maintaining cybersecurity documentation and policies, and interfacing with certification authorities to support cybersecurity aspects of certification.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field and hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience throughout the full systems and software development life cycles in a regulated industry is essential. Familiarity with diverse cybersecurity tools and technologies used for the development, testing, and analysis of safety-critical embedded systems is required. A strong cybersecurity mindset, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills, is also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with DevOps and site reliability, experience with supplier management and Agile methodologies, proficiency with the ISO27000 framework, experience with the AS9100 quality system, and CISSP certification. Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $180,000 to $275,000, with actual compensation determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
